Kingfisher Cottages are nestling on the banks of Reservoir de l’etang Neuf at St Connan in dept 22 in Brittany France. The lake is 9 hectare in size and 2 – 3 meters deep, It is a public water but is a specialist Fly fishing water for Trout where there is a day ticket charge of 18 euros / day. You are also very close to Etang St Connan that is free to fish and well known for its Carp fishing.
Kingfisher Cottages are made up of two Cottages first
Grebes Landing
Grebes Landing is our largest Gite and comprises 3 bedrooms sleeping up to 8 people.
On the first floor is a twin bedded room and a further King size bedded room.
On the second floor is our feature, magnificent attic family room with King Size bed and 2 pull out single beds. This is a large space and also has seating for a quiet getaway. This room is completed with a large velux window with breath taking views of the lake and forest.
All bedrooms have wardrobes ( including coat hangers ), chest of drawers and hairdryers.
On the first floor is the bathroom which contains toilet, hand basin and Breton bath with shower.
The ground floor, which opens into the courtyard through French windows, is one room. There is relaxing furniture with seating for up to 8 people facing on to the central feature stone fireplace with log burner. The dining area has a period table and chairs, again seating up to 8 people. For your entertainment there is flat screen TV which receives all Freeview English channels as well as French ones. Also DVD player with many films available.
The kitchen area features modern appliances including fan oven, gas hob, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher and double fridge freezer. All cutlery, cooking items, crockery and glasses are provided.
All bed linen, towels etc are provided and changed weekly.
Dependent upon your requirements we also offer cots, buggies, high chairs and baby monitors.
Electric fans are available.
We also have for your leisure mountain bikes, a boat with electric outboard motor, games, books and DVD’s.
All safety equipment including cycling helmets and life jackets are available.
To top it all off there is an enticing welcome pack to get you on your way.
The second Cottage is Trout’s Leap
Trout’s Leap is a stunning lakeside cottage – literally on the bank of the lake – and comprises 2 double bedded rooms sleeping up to 4 people.
The property is served by 2 entrances – 1 from the courtyard and the second directly out on to the lake.
On the ground floor is the lounge, dining area and kitchen.
The lounge area is furnished with a comfortable, new 3 piece suite, unique coffee table, bookcase and flat screen TV and DVD player. The TV receives all Freeview English channels and there is an extensive library of DVD’s available.
The dining area has views across the lake and provides a truly memorable and relaxing setting for your meals. The table can seat up to 6 people.
The kitchen area boasts all modern appliances including fan oven, gas hob, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, dishwasher and large size fridge freezer. All cutlery, cooking items, crockery and glasses are provided.
Upstairs there is a double bedded room and a twin bedded room with furniture – coat hangers and hairdryers are provided. The bathroom comprises toilet, hand basin and bath / shower.
