Callac Lake is a stunning water of just under 20 acres situated just outside the town of Callac so easy access for towns facilities. There is a wide walkway around the lake so is suitable for wheelchair users and family fishing. As it was a 1st Category and stocked regularly with Trout it is mainly fished by the French anglers for the Trout ( to over 2 Kg ) The lake has new been changed to a Cat 2 lake to attract more anglers as there are just a few Carp anglers that fish it which is a surprise when there has been some stunning Commons, Mirrors and Grass Carp caught well in excess of 20Kg. There are also some very large Tench, Pike, Perch and Roach. Toilets and fresh tap water at lakeside.
Please note – When fishing any Public water in France please have respect for the location and clear up any mess that you have made and do not damage banks / vegetation and no open fires, Catch and release all fish except Trout and Salmon and when fishing for Carp use appropriate tackle with large landing net and unhooking mat.Fish stealing is a big problem from Public waters if you see anybody removing large fish like Carp please take note of the vehicle registration and report to authorities.
